Think fast, think slow

In a nutshell: Human thought ranges from fleeting impressions to enduring moods. This paper proposes that stable synchronised patterns of activity at the brain’s anatomical core are critical to “slow” moods, and unstable activity at the periphery, for fleeting ones.
