Why do magic tricks fool us? How do con artists deceive us? Why are our own brains trying to bamboozle us?
Honest conman Nicholas J. Johnson delves deep into the human brain to reveal the secrets of deception and illusion. Created in collaboration with neuroscientists from around the world, Deceptology is part magic show and part exposé. Rather than simply explaining how the tricks work, Nicholas will explain why.
You’ll never trust your own brain again!
Nicholas J. Johnson is Australia’s leading scamologist, an author and entertainer who specialises in con artists, swindlers and their methods. He has consulted and performed for law enforcement, casinos and companies around Australia. His educational high school shows have taught critical thinking to thousands of school students.
Neuroscientist consultants to Deceptology: Drs Adam Morris and Nicholas Price of Monash University.
When: 7:15pm, 28 June – 2 July
